For new light game and Egging standard
The light versatile Spinning rod!
The Batuta 80S is a light spinning rod that can be transformed between lengths of 6.7 ft and 8 ft. As indicated by its versatile cast weight range, the Batuta 80S focuses on all aspects of light-game fishing. Through exhaustive testing, it has been designed to cover everything from casual fishing to serious games—including egging (squid fishing), sea bass fishing with lighter lures, chinning (bream game), rockfish (mebaru) games, and light rock fishing.
When viewed as an egging rod, the Batuta 80S features a relatively slow taper. It excels at jerking actions that bend the entire rod like a whip, making it possible to deliver subtle presentations that utilize line slack to tempt tight, reluctant squid. In recent years, with advances in manufacturing technology, high-end egging rods and light-class rods have predominantly adopted delicate tips and extreme fast tapers. In contrast, the Batuta 80S adopts a regular-taper blank with a tip that retains a controlled degree of stiffness.

COMPASS OF YOUR DREAM
Basic combination
The initial set of the Batuta 80S+ consists of two basic length configurations: 6.7 ft and 8.0 ft. One of the greatest appeals of the Batuta 80S+ is that, from a single set, you can choose the optimal rod length to match the field conditions at your destination.
When the length changes, the blank reveals a completely different character.
Batuta80S
The defining features of the Batuta 80 are its "moderately stiff tip" and "supple butt." Because the entire rod bends smoothly and beautifully—hardly feeling like a 6-piece rod at all—you can fight fish with confidence even when using small hooks or light, thin lines. The butt section possesses plenty of power while still bending deeply, maximizing the performance of light lines to help you safely land unexpected trophy fish when they strike.

In recent years, along with technological advancements, high-end light rods and egging rods have predominantly adopted delicate tips and extreme fast tapers. In contrast, the Batuta features a regular-taper blank with a tip that retains a controlled degree of stiffness.
When viewed as a medium-light (ML) game rod, it feels like a sea bass rod scaled down for lightness, dramatically enhancing operability. It excels at handling lures in the 5 to 14 gram range with exceptional comfort, while the overall suppleness of the rod plays a key role in giving lures a lifelike, breathing action.
Furthermore, thanks to its high versatility, the Batuta 80S can be used comfortably across a wide range of applications, including "bachinuke" (marine worm) pattern sea bass fishing, rocky-shore rockfish (mebaru) games, and trout fishing.

Batuta67S
The Batuta 67 possesses a remarkable depth of capability, brought by the performance of a rod that features both tension and a smooth, beautiful regular bend. It is a specification that shines across a wide range of fishing styles, from bass fishing in farm ponds to offshore light jigging.
We designed the blank with scenarios in mind where the Batuta 80 might be difficult to handle—such as tight spots with casting restrictions like rivers and farm ponds, or situations requiring high maneuverability on kayaks and boats.
The newly adopted variable system does not share the same butt section; instead, it features a butt section unique to the BA67, resulting in a lighter and more supple blank. While retaining its suppleness as it becomes shorter, it delivers a slightly sharper feel in use. As a result, it adapts well to techniques that require subtle, intricate actions—tactics that might be slightly more challenging with the 8.0-foot version.
Furthermore, the shorter length dramatically enhances operability, making the handling of smaller lures in the 3 to 10 gram range exceptionally comfortable.

Batuta80S+の特徴
The Batuta 80S is a versatile rod designed for light-game fishing, with its primary configuration built around the 8.0-foot version. This length is optimized primarily for egging while remaining adaptable to a wide array of light saltwater games.
In multi-piece rods, breadth of versatility is critically important. What the Batuta 80S aimed to achieve is the standard light-saltwater rod for TRANSCENDENCE. From fishing off breakwaters and pebble beaches (gorota fields) to urban harbors, 8.0 feet proved to be the ideal length capable of handling virtually any situation.
The Advantage of the Short Version (6.7 ft)
The short version significantly reduces the length down to 6.7 feet. This was driven by the need for a length suited to light-game fishing from boats, as well as in farm ponds (noke) and rivers.
-
Freshwater Environments: In freshwater fishing, even a 7-foot rod is frequently too long.
-
Boat Fishing: Similarly, in boat fishing where space is limited, longer rods tend to be avoided.
The 6.7-foot length is a realistic, highly functional dimension that performs exceptionally well in these restricted environments, striking right down the middle as a true versatile rod.

In eging
The advantages of Batuta80S
The Superiority of the Batuta in Egging
The Batuta 80S is designed primarily around the use of size 3.5 Egi (squid jigs). More specifically, it is meticulously engineered to provide optimal handling for jigs weighing 21 grams or less.
In recent years, the mainstream trend for high-end egging rods has shifted toward small-diameter guide settings and extreme fast tapers. In stark contrast, the Batuta 80S embraces a delightfully supple, slow-leaning taper where the entire rod bends smoothly and deeply.
-
Exceptional Synergy with Light Lines: Because it bends so naturally and seamlessly—unimaginable for a 6-piece rod—it pairs exceptionally well with thin, delicate lines, allowing you to fully savor the fight regardless of the squid's size.
-
Whip-Like Jerking & Slack Utilization: It excels at actions that flex the entire blank like a whip to generate abundant line slack. This allows for meticulous, lingering presentations ("nechi-nechi" fishing) that entice squid without pulling the jig prematurely toward the angler.
-
Tidal Sensitivity: By maximizing this inherent suppleness, the rod delivers a unique feel in the hand, allowing anglers to sensitively read subtle changes in currents and water pressure during both jerking and falling phases.

BA80S+ as a light rod
Exceptional Versatility Grounded in Core Performance
By designing the Batuta 80S around an egging rod—known for its inherently high adaptability to various fishing styles—we unlocked remarkable versatility. However, a common pitfall of "do-it-all" rods is ending up with a mediocre score across the board (scoring around 70 points in everything).
To prevent this, our testing philosophy was uncompromising: prioritize the fundamental performance of an egging rod above all else, and only then expand that versatility to target other species.
Maximizing this versatility means the Batuta 80S performs brilliantly whether you're fishing your home waters or traveling to unfamiliar away grounds, handling any situation with ease. It is designed to be the rod you always want to pack and bring with you, wherever you go.
The Innovation of Even-Numbered Pieces
Our biggest design commitment for this series was utilizing an even-numbered piece construction.
-
2-Piece Versatility: By adopting a 6-piece design, the rod can also be broken down and used as a standard 2-piece rod during regular, everyday fishing sessions.
-
Ultra-Compact Packability: This configuration achieves a packed length of just 460 mm, placing it among the top class of ultra-compact pack lengths within the entire TRANSCENDENCE lineup.
Unobtrusive Portability for the Unexpected Cast
Because of its exceptionally short packed length, the Batuta 80S can be tucked quietly into the depths of a bag during journeys where fishing isn't the primary objective—such as business trips, homecomings, or family vacations. It is so effortless to carry that you might occasionally forget you even brought it along. This seamless portability ensures it never interferes with your primary travel plans, yet leaves you fully prepared to seize sudden, unexpected fishing opportunities whenever they arise.
Despite being a long-format middle and light-game rod, its ultra-compact packability introduces an entirely new dimension of fishing lifestyles that was previously unimaginable.
Proven Field Performance Across Diverse Scenarios
To highlight a few practical examples from around Tokyo Bay and beyond:
-
Urban Waters: Harbor and river sea bass fishing.
-
Coastal Exploration: Mebaru (rockfish) games along breakwaters and light rocky shores.
-
Rough Water & Surf: Surf-based blackfin seabass (Hirasuzuki) games.
-
Freshwater: Shore-bound black bass fishing.
The true strength and beauty of the Batuta 80S lie in its unwavering capability to elevate and support the angler's journey across a multitude of diverse environments.

Takato Yamada
The Batuta80/67S fulfills my long-held desire to have a multi-piece rod that I can use for serious eging (squid fishing).
When fishing away from home using a multi-piece rod, I often felt that I wasn't fully enjoying the fishing experience because my tackle was different from what I usually use. With that in mind, I decided to create a multi-piece rod that I would want to use for everyday fishing as well, and that's how this development project began.
What I focused on most was being able to feel the tide. Thanks to its unique setting, the Batuta80S allows you to feel even the slightest changes in the resistance the jig receives from the tide during jigging and falling. Bigfin reef squid are most active in feeding when the tide is moving. I believe the tide is one of the most important pieces of information when planning your strategy for the day. By enhancing the game aspect in this way, you can truly enjoy eging whether you're fishing at home or away.
Furthermore, we developed this rod so that the ease with which eging rods can be used with various lures other than squid jigs. It's perfectly suited for lures that require jerking, darting, or lift-and-fall actions.
The result is a rod that embodies the TRANSCENDENCE spirit, going beyond just eging (squid fishing).
And, inspired by the image of moving the rod and giving life to the lure, this rod is named "Batuta," meaning conductor's baton. May the Batuta80S become the conductor's baton that connects you, your lure, and your memorable catch.

An essential light rod
Keisuke Doi
There's a fishing rod that I never let go of, no matter where I go throughout the year. Its name is Batuta80S.
From eging (squid fishing) to light to medium game fishing like bottom winding and chining (sea bream fishing), and even sea bass fishing using lightweight lures in small bait patterns and worm hatch patterns, this rod is incredibly versatile, excelling in both local fishing and long-distance trips targeting main targets as well as secondary targets. It truly embodies the word "versatile." I'd say it's perfectly suited for fishing using PE line of 0.5 to 0.8号 (approximately 0.5-0.8mm diameter).
The development started with the desire for a multi-piece rod for eging (squid fishing). It can comfortably handle eging jigs ranging from the 2.5号 size commonly used in the autumn season to the 4.0号 size used in the spring season.
One of the most noteworthy aspects of eging is its high ability to sense currents. By feeling the resistance when moving the jig, you can sense the current and not miss the fleeting moment when the squid become active. Furthermore, unlike many other eging rods that have become mainstream in recent years, the tip section has just the right amount of stiffness, allowing for high-level handling of bottom winding, topwater games using small topwater plugs, and twitching and jerking of small minnows.
With a packed length of just 460mm, it's one of the shortest rods in the Transcendence series. The fact that such a versatile rod can fit so compactly into a bag is wonderful, and it's easy to imagine the many fish encounters that await you. From everyday fishing in your neighborhood to train, airplane, and boat trips, we hope that you, whoever holds this rod in your hands, will be able to catch as many different species of fish as possible.
