Answering this demand, the Eta Quattro 65B is an offshore pack rod with a compact closed length of 70 cm. By combining two distinct tip sections (Soft and Hard) with an extension piece, it delivers four distinct rod lengths and power ratings in a single modular platform.

Tailor the setup to your tactical vision and adapt instantly to the day's conditions. While primarily engineered for slow-pitch jigging targeting inshore and destination reef species (rockfish) and pelagics, the 6.0 ft mode also excels at aggressive high-pitch jigging. Furthermore, its operational envelope expands into deep-drop jigging—effortlessly commanding jigs up to 400 g down to depths of 300 meters.

A considerable amount of time has passed since I first encountered slow-pitch jigging. Before trying it myself, I felt virtually no draw toward the style; yet once I took the plunge, I was captivated by its depth and how deeply its core principles intersect with so many other fishing disciplines.
 

It happened on my second outing. We were fishing a squid ground—a prime zone where trophy red seabream, pelagics, and heavy bottom dwellers converge to feast on squid. It was there, suspended in mid-water, that I hooked an unforgettable monster.
 

A dull, heavy thud resonated through the blank as if making a sound of its own. The hit came after working the jig several dozen meters up from the seabed. The fish remained completely immovable. It was unmistakably a massive grouper drawn up into the water column to hunt squid. Line violently peeled from my reel spooled with PE #2 braid. The beast paid no mind to the jig embedded in its jaw. As a novice slow-jigger at the time, I stood utterly helpless as the line eventually gave way.
 

That defining defeat was the catalyst that drove me headfirst into the world of slow-pitch jigging. An unexpected encounter with a lifetime trophy can occur at any second. To definitively turn that sudden bite into a landed fish, we needed a rod built with the TRANSCENDENCE DNA—and that ambition gave birth to the Eta Quattro.

As water depth increases, heightened hydrostatic pressure on the line makes commanding the jig increasingly difficult. In those conditions, I urge anglers to proactively insert the extension section. Deep below, line currents sweep and bow the braid, offering zero guarantee that your jig is moving as imagined. After all, the luxury of bringing a full rack of specialized rods to a remote destination only exists when jigging is your sole objective.
