Allround rock shore rod
The ultimate single-rod solution for pioneering uncharted rocky shores.
The Marreflipp incorporates our proprietary 2-in-1 modular system, enabling instantaneous length transformation on the fly. It is engineered with two distinct tactical profiles in mind: 11.1 ft optimized for blackfin seabass (Hirasuzuki), and 10.2 ft dialed for pelagic blue runners.
The package includes two dedicated guideless butt sections—long and short. Because neither butt section contains a guide, anglers can seamlessly switch lengths without ever breaking down their leader or retying terminal tackle. Extending beyond physical reach, the blank's perceived power, flex curve, and structural stiffness dynamically shift—delivering the authentic performance of two completely distinct rod blanks in a single system.
The Marreflipp achieves a sophisticated blank balance: unyielding lifting torque to dominate surprise trophy pelagics, paired with nuanced tip compliance that cushions delicate, high-speed strikes from wary blackfin seabass without pulling hooks. Engineered specifically for punishing rocky shore environments where harsh weather is standard, it inherits the obsessive design focus of the Empinado 91S+—providing razor-sharp rod swing speed into gale-force head- and cross-winds, exceptional line control from elevated perches, and precise lure articulation amidst pounding ocean swells.
Rigorous field testing has conquered an expansive spectrum of game fish, from juvenile to trophy-class blackfin seabass, yellowtail kingfish (Hiramasa), spangled emperor (Taman), leopard coral trout (Sujiara), yellow-edged lyretail (Barahata), and bluefin trevally (Kasumiaji).

COMPASS OF YOUR DREAM
Basic combination
Following an exhaustive, uncompromising evaluation of blank lengths in the field, the Mareflipp 102S+ settled on the definitive dual-length configuration of 10.2 ft and 11.1 ft (11.2 ft max class).
The 10.2 ft mode is purpose-tuned for low-foothold rocky shores and nimble, high-cadence manipulation of diving pencils and topwater plugs. Conversely, shifting to the 11.1 ft setting provides vital line clearance and extended reach on high, jagged ledges or in turbulent, heavy-surf conditions—allowing anglers to command the rockshore game with elevated safety and total operational control.

The Mareflipp 102S+ (10.2 ft mode) was developed with a primary strategic focus on pelagic blue runners, specifically yellowtail kingfish (Hiramasa) and amberjack / yellowtail (Buri).
Derived from extensive field expeditions across countless coastal ledges, we concluded that 10.2 ft represents the definitive sweet spot—minimizing physical fatigue while delivering universal adaptability across virtually any rockshore terrain.
This nimble length significantly increases structural break strength under extreme load, empowering anglers to aggressively turn and muscle trophy blue runners away from razor-sharp structure. The moment you take the rod in hand, its remarkable featherlight maneuverability and unyielding sense of security are immediately evident.
Furthermore, this length is optimized for the continuous sweeping cadence demanded by diving pencils and topwater plugs. It also provides the ideal power band and agile handling when targeting aggressive reef and bluewater species such as bluefin trevally (Kasumiaji) and yellow-edged lyretail (Barahata).

Mareflipp111
The 11.1 ft configuration was engineered with a dedicated focus on blackfin seabass (Hirasuzuki). The Mareflipp possesses crisp, resolute tension throughout the butt-to-belly section, enabling anglers to punch through a full, committed casting stroke even against ferocious coastal gales.
To counter the notoriously delicate, high-speed strikes of blackfin seabass, the blank incorporates a supple tip designed to entangle and stick every bite without bouncing. Harmonizing this sensitive tip with a progressively compliant full-blank flex, the rod achieves an exquisitely balanced taper dialed for universal adaptability across diverse rockshore terrains. When confronting elevated ledges, pounding surf, or mandatory high-lift landings (nukiage), an 11 ft-class reach delivers a decisive tactical advantage.
Differentiating the Mareflipp from the Empinado 91S+ extends well beyond nominal reach: it serves as the ultimate premier choice when deliberately hunting trophy lunkers or stepping onto ledges where encounters with aggressive pelagic blue runners are frequent. When absolute reassurance and unyielding lifting authority are non-negotiable on the rocks, reach for the Mareflip.

A must-have for pioneers
The Mareflipp 102S+ possesses a decisive tactical advantage over conventional long rockshore rods: unparalleled safety and mobility during coastal approaches.
Safe passage is the non-negotiable prerequisite of any expedition. TRANSCENDENCE firmly believes that ensuring safe, unhindered access to prime, remote ledges is a cornerstone of modern blackfin seabass and pelagic shore angling.
Alongside the Empinado 91S+, the Mareflipp 102S+ delivers exceptional multi-piece packability. Anglers can traverse dense mountain trails, cliff descents, and treacherous tidal rocks with both hands completely free. This hands-free mobility not only enhances climber safety on rugged routes, but also drastically minimizes physical fatigue for long treks.
Pairing the rod with our optional neoprene rod cover enables even smoother, highly protected transit directly to the water’s edge.

Adaptable reel
The Mareflipp 102S+ was engineered primarily around heavy-duty saltwater spinning platforms, specifically the dedicated SW-class series (such as Shimano SW). Blank counterbalancing and guide ring diameters are precisely calibrated to maximize performance when paired with these robust saltwater reels.
For both the 10.2 ft and 11.1 ft configurations, 5000 to 6000-size reels represent the ideal match for flawless dynamic balance and high-speed line management. When opting to mount an 8000-size reel for heavier line capacity and elevated drag pressures, deploying the rod in its 11.1 ft mode provides the optimal structural balance and leverage.
Guide setting
The Mareflip 102S+ is outfitted with a #8 top guide to ensure effortless line release and unhindered leader passage, even when running heavy PE #4 systems. This clearance empowers anglers to adapt their tactical setups instantly to whatever apex predator appears on the ledge.
To maximize durability against rocky impacts and harsh saltwater environments, the entire guide train utilizes premium Fuji Titanium-frame SiC-S rings.
To preserve the crisp, torque-loaded tension through the lower blank, double-foot guides are strategically deployed from the butt guide through the third guide. Conversely, the tip-to-belly section incorporates lightweight single-foot guides—a conscious choice that enhances tip responsiveness, cushions delicate blackfin seabass strikes to prevent pulled hooks, and ensures fluid manipulation of compact diving pencils.

Long-distance casting performance
In the punishing theatre of rockshore angling, casting distance stands as the ultimate decisive factor.
While maximizing blank recovery to generate explosive lure velocity is essential, we believe intuitive, effortless castability is just as critical to achieving true long-range performance.
Because hand placement and grip diameter dramatically alter the transfer of kinetic power during the cast, we calibrated the handle ergonomics down to the millimeter—allowing anglers to achieve maximum ballistic distance with minimal physical effort.
Furthermore, given the heavy-duty power rating of this blank, sustained lure manipulation without fatigue is vital. By integrating an internal counter-balancer within the grip end, the dynamic center of gravity is drawn closer to the body. This eliminates tip-heaviness and significantly mitigates the perceived in-hand weight throughout day-long sessions.

Variable system
The Mareflip 102S+ allows anglers to change rod lengths instantly without unthreading line or leaders through the guides. The package includes two guideless butt sections of varying lengths, enabling on-the-fly length adjustments tailored to real-time ledge conditions.
Furthermore, this Trans-system eliminates the need for spigot ferrules (inro-tsugi), achieving significant weight reduction. This streamlined structural architecture permits a continuous, uninterrupted taper across both length configurations, producing a remarkably smooth, unbroken bending curve under load.

Aiming to create a multi-piece rod that can handle both Japanese sea bass and bluefin tuna at a high level.
Kakeru Baba
Pounding the coastal whitewash on rocky shores: while blackfin seabass (Hirasuzuki) is the primary quarry, virtually every seasoned angler has encountered that sudden, violent strike from an unexpected pelagic blue runner. Converting those chaotic hookups in heavy, tempestuous seas is notoriously difficult—a bitter lesson our development team experienced firsthand on numerous occasions.
Blackfin seabass hunting demands aggressive mobility across steep mountain trails and treacherous boulder fields. In a continuous cycle of casting and hiking, lugging two separate rods—one for seabass and one for pelagics—is grossly inefficient. Anglers are inevitably forced to compromise on a single rod, because no matter how much gear you carry, you can only cast one rod at a time.
This stark reality defined the development mandate of the Mareflip 102S+: to engineer a singular weapon capable of deliberately targeting and subduing both blackfin seabass and pelagic giants with uncompromising authority. While compromise rods that "can handle a bit of both" exist on the market, the Mareflip aims for true dual-mastery at the highest level. The blank seamlessly commands everything from compact 70 mm plugs up to 160 mm diving pencils, delivering flawless lure articulation and immediate tactical adaptation across changing conditions.
強さと柔軟さ
MASAYUKI YAMANE
The Mareflip 102S+ is a masterpiece forged across two rigorous years of relentless field testing by developer Sou Baba. Having witnessed his uncompromising passion, technical hurdles, and continuous refinement up close, the resulting rod realizes a flawless synergy: a supple, compliant tip for nuanced lure presentation, paired with a powerhouse butt section engineered to slice through heavy coastal winds and tame ferocious fish. With the birth of the Mareflip 102S+, we established the definitive strong-style versatile platform capable of dominating far beyond blackfin seabass and pelagics.
On unforgiving rockshores, rod strength translates directly into angler reassurance and protection. When fishing within an environment where terrain and elements inherently favor the fish, an undeniably trustworthy rod enhances angler safety and proves decisive during encounters with unexpected apex monsters.
In the wild, unpredictable opportunities frequently appear. While exploring the rugged coastline of the Izu Peninsula, an immense Japanese blue parrotfish (Aobudai) suddenly materialized beneath the ledges. While subduing such a powerhouse was questionable on standard platforms like the Empinado, the Mareflip 102S+ in hand provided the confidence to strike immediately. Dropping bait directly into the strike zone triggered an instantaneous, violent take characterized by crushing downward surges and immense sheer mass. Without the unique combination of the Mareflip’s supple tip to secure the bite and its deep-lifting blank torque, executing every phase from hookset to final landing would have been impossible.
Unforeseen scenarios are the constant reality of the rocks. Consequently, leaving the Mareflip behind—whether on remote global expeditions or routine coastal hikes—is never an option. Keeping this rod at your side grants the unconditional right to challenge extraordinary creatures the instant they appear.
Where past anglers were forced to watch helplessly and concede defeat, the Mareflip now delivers the dynamic blend of brute stopping power and refined flexibility needed to confront and conquer any adversary. We invite dedicated anglers everywhere to experience this transformative balance firsthand.
