Finess = Fun

Requirements for catching a Memorial Fish!

In finesse fishing, your tackle dictates everything.

Above all, the rod is paramount—it must transmit the faintest drag and micro-current changes acting on ultra-light lures with absolute clarity. Imagine if that uncompromising, 100% finesse performance could be packed into a multi-piece architecture... Whether you travel on foot, by boat, car, train, motorbike, bicycle, or airplane, you can deliver razor-sharp, delicate presentations wherever your journey takes you.

This is not merely a pack rod you can bring along—it brings true, tournament-grade finesse precision straight to the water. Dedicated anglers who have mastered the craft know firsthand the unmatched tactical advantage of having an uncompromising finesse system anywhere on the globe.

That is why we refused any compromises or lenient benchmarks of being "good enough for a multi-piece." We dialed it in so that switching directly from high-end one-piece finesse rods feels entirely natural and seamless during everyday sessions.

The Sperar 64S+ retains the signature, razor-sharp operational feel of the original Sperar while adding modular extension capabilities. This evolution expands its versatility beyond bass angling, mastering light saltwater games with equal finesse.

COMPASS OF YOUR DREAM

Basic combination

The Sperar 64S+ underwent a complete ground-up redesign—from raw blank construction to ferrule joint architecture—transforming it from a fixed 6.4 ft model into a modular 6.4 ft to 7.5 ft variable system.

As a result, it retains the signature, high-dimension finesse performance of the original Sperar 64 for light games, while re-tuning the blank's overall load balance to effortlessly handle light saltwater applications and stand up to unexpected encounters with monster-class predators.

Put simply, the Sperar 64 is the quintessential "all-around honor student" of finesse rods—delivering consistently high performance across any field.

Built around an L+ power rating, its smoothly compliant bending curve naturally adapts to a broad spectrum of light games. Above all, our core design philosophy for this multi-piece finesse rod was absolute versatility: ensuring there is "nothing it cannot do."

It is dialed in to master virtually every scenario expected in light game fishing using 3–5 lb monofilament/fluorocarbon or PE #0.3–0.5 braid.

Our primary field testing centered on bass fishing. The blank excels at bottom-contact worming techniques like down-shot rigs and Neko rigs, while effortlessly handling mid-strolling and suspended mid-column tactics.

Saltwater light game fishing primarily takes place from breakwaters, piers, and harbors. While a 6.4 ft rod gets the job done, even a slight breeze can quickly make line control difficult from elevated positions. The definitive answer reached by TRANSCENDENCE field testers was the 7.5 ft configuration.

We tuned the blank with a crisp regular taper to create a true versatile platform for rockfish (mebaru), greenling (ainame), and horse mackerel (ajing). The rod provides exquisite command over small hard plugs, delivers exceptional feedback with 2–5 g jigheads and Carolina rigs, and handles 3 g-class Texas rigs with ease. Adapting seamlessly to localized techniques wherever you travel, it stands as the ultimate travel light game rod for any expedition.

Finesse = lightness

The defining hallmark of the Sperar 64 is, above all, its astonishing lightness. The moment an angler picks it up, the immediate reaction is almost universally: "It's weightless!"

By setting the rear grip slightly longer, we engineered an exquisite counter-balance that delivers an agile, featherlight in-hand feel—making you completely forget you are holding a multi-piece pack rod.

We were especially obsessive about the loaded balance once a reel is mounted. It achieves that almost magical phenomenon where the entire setup feels even lighter in your hand with the reel attached than without.

The 6.4 ft length was the exact sweet spot we arrived at after relentlessly pursuing the ultimate balance of transmission sensitivity and raw lightness.

While the original Sperar 64S deliberately opted against a modular system to preserve this pure balance, advances in TRANSCENDENCE's blank engineering have now made length variability possible without sacrificing that original lightness and flawless ergonomics. Through this breakthrough, the Sperar has evolved into an even more versatile weapon across an expansive range of fishing styles.

A top-performing multi-finesse rod

The Sperar 64 pairs exceptionally well with hard plugs. In fact, its L+ power rating was calculated specifically with hardbait tactics in mind.

Unlike conventional light-rig rods with overly floppy tips, the Sperar avoids excessive tip softness, allowing you to manipulate water-resistant plugs crisply and effortlessly without blank lag.

For hardbait applications, we recommend pairing the rod with PE #0.3 braid.

It delivers an impeccably smooth, responsive rhythm when working minnows, jerkbaits, and topwater plugs up to 8 g. For spoons and spinners, the 2–6 g range hits the absolute sweet spot.

Developed using TRANSCENDENCE’s flagship spinning elder brother—the Botia 62S—as its engineering benchmark, the Sperar inherits that same explosive, effortless casting distance.

A rod that can compete on a global level.

Power & Action

Every TRANSCENDENCE rod is forged around a shared, uncompromising DNA: the power to go toe-to-toe with true giant fish.

The Sperar 64S, despite being an ultra-finesse light rod, is no exception.

No matter the water, unexpected encounters with massive fish happen when you least expect them. In finesse fishing, whether your tackle can actually land that accidental giant doesn't just dictate the outcome of that day's trip—it can define a personal record or a once-in-a-lifetime fishing memory.

Especially on high-caliber waters like Lake Biwa or Ikehara Dam where monstrous bass lurk, possessing the sheer lifting torque to close the deal when a maximum-class fish strikes is an absolute necessity.

When loaded, the Sperar 64S smoothly distributes pressure progressively down into the butt section. Instead of suddenly hinging or collapsing under extreme loads, the blank retains a resilient, unyielding core that uses pure elastic rebound to float heavy fish automatically. Multi-piece rods are born to travel. Being fully prepared to conquer spontaneous encounters with trophy fish—both at home and across the globe—is not just a feature; it is an essential baseline.

進化による汎用性

While development began with a primary focus on bass fishing, we quickly discovered that the blank possessed an exceptional affinity for saltwater light games and diverse freshwater applications alike. The original Sperar 64S lacked our modular Trans System, which inherently limited its adaptability across broader saltwater environments.

It also pairs flawlessly with lake trout games on expansive waters like Lake Chuzenji and Lake Towada. In particular, it proves deadly for sight-fishing trophy lake trout and brown trout—disciplines that demand whisper-quiet presentations and surgical precision.

Furthermore, it effortlessly commands small hardbaits across a vast spectrum of plugging styles, making it a reliable, high-precision travel weapon anywhere in Japan and around the globe.
