Rods that keep pushing the limits

For that one moment, catching from the shore!

The ShoreR 94S is a dedicated shore big game rod, engineered specifically to confront monster-class predators head-on from the rocks.

Over more than six years of relentless development, it has been punished in some of the world's most unforgiving proving grounds—from the Tokara Islands, Yakushima, and Sado Island to the wild coastlines of Gabon, West Africa—hunting giant trevally (GT), dogtooth tuna, and trophy kingfish (hiramasa).

Boarding flights, taking remote island ferries, and trekking across rugged coastal ledges under heavy loads—shore big game fishing pushes your time and physical endurance to their absolute limits. To seize scarce, fleeting opportunities, covering ground is essential. You must be ready to run-and-gun, hop between islands, and hunt down the fish yourself.

In such a demanding game, a high-performance multi-piece rod becomes an undeniable strategic weapon. The ShoreR 94S pairs superior travel portability with a crisp, effortless casting stroke, delivering the real-world comfort needed to keep casting relentlessly without losing focus, even in hostile weather.

The blank is tuned with moderate crispness throughout, offering outstanding command over sinking minnows and sinking pencil baits. It allows you to control lure action with surgical precision, triggering aggressive reaction bites at will.

Once hooked, the entire blank absorbs the violent loads, refusing to yield the initiative to trophy monsters. Refined through countless heartbreaks for the single moment that makes it all worthwhile, the ShoreR 94S is the ultimate companion for dedicated anglers relentlessly chasing extreme dreams.

COMPASS OF YOUR DREAM

Basic combination

The ShoreR 94S features a dedicated, single-configuration layout without interchangeable length modules.

While built around a fixed length, this rod was born directly from our expeditions in the Republic of Gabon, engineered with a unique taper balance designed to conquer both heavy surf and rugged rockshore environments. In both surf and rocky ledge games, length alone does not dictate performance—true efficiency comes down to overall rod balance and an ergonomic design that drastically reduces physical strain over grueling, all-day sessions.

A shore rod must execute every job flawlessly when it counts. The ShoreR 94S delivers the uncompromising durability and lifting specs required for monsters, yet remains balanced enough to cast comfortably for 10 hours a day without breaking your body.

The ShoreR 94S was born to target true apex predators from the shore, both in domestic waters and across the globe. We developed this rod with clear mission parameters: hunting land-based Giant Trevally (GT), dogtooth tuna, kingfish (hiramasa), and yellowfin tuna at home, as well as battling iconic trophies like tarpon and roosterfish abroad.

We engineered it into a highly versatile shore casting rod capable of comfortably working an extensive payload of lures—from diving pencils and heavy poppers to sinking pencil baits.

What we pursued above all was sheer dynamic range. Blanks that are merely stiff, brute-force strong, or overly soft cannot stand up to the unforgiving demands of the world's wild coastlines.

Balancing casting comfort, responsive blank leverage, and the endurance required for grueling, all-day sessions—the ShoreR 94S is TRANSCENDENCE's definitive answer for shore big game expeditions.

We arrived at the 9.4 ft specification after building and punishing prototypes across virtually every conceivable length. At 9.4 ft, the blank achieves an immaculate sweet spot in overall balance—offering the ideal compromise between high-foothold line control, backswing clearance on cramped ledges, travel portability, and the endurance needed to cast relentlessly all day without fatigue.

The more hours you log with the ShoreR 94S, the clearer the reasoning behind its design will become. We tuned the taper to a near-regular bending curve, engineering a blank that loads deeply under load yet delivers immense lifting power when locked in combat with a monster. In extreme shore-based big game fishing, this progressive load distribution is vital.

By bending properly and absorbing the punishing shockwaves of the fight, the ShoreR 94S drastically reduces physical strain on the angler, preserving your focus when it matters most. Feeding windows for apex shore predators last only a heartbeat. The angler whose lure is swimming at that exact split second is the only one who claims the ultimate prize. Casting persistently until that fleeting window opens demands physical stamina and razor-sharp concentration—and this rod was built to protect both.

The blanks of the ShoreR 94S were constructed by layering a sophisticated matrix of diverse carbon prepregs, precisely calculated to harmonize lure operability, maximum casting distance, and overwhelming butt power. Because this rod is built exclusively for apex predators, exceptional fracture strength was an uncompromising baseline requirement.

By tuning the blank to a regular action bending curve, it significantly minimizes the physical burden on the angler during high-drag battles. Simultaneously, the blank retains immense elastic restoring force, allowing the rod to automatically apply relentless, continuous pressure on the fish throughout the fight.

The ShoreR 94S is optimized for 14000 to 20000-class spinning reels, featuring a tailor-made guide layout designed specifically for heavy hardware. Equipped with a size 16 top guide, it effortlessly accommodates extreme monster-hunting line systems—flawlessly clearing combinations up to PE #10 main line paired with a 80-gou (~300 lb) shock leader.

ビッグゲームにマルチピースロッドという選択

Ryo Miyaguchi

I rely on the multi-piece ShoreR 94S to target trophy-class tropical game from the rocks. My primary proving grounds are remote islands reached by ferry, and it is no exaggeration to say this rod was engineered specifically for this style of expedition—offering game-changing strategic advantages.

  • Zero Oversized Rod Cases on Ferries: With a pack rod, you can leave cumbersome hard cases behind. It significantly cuts down your luggage footprint and eliminates the need to check gear into cargo containers, saving critical time and effort at baggage claim.

  • Total Freedom with Island Rental Cars: Eliminating a massive rod case means vehicle size is never a constraint. Multiple anglers can easily pile into compact kei cars. During peak tourist or holiday seasons when standard rentals are fully booked, I have even loaded up in a mini kei truck without an issue.

  • Optimized 770 mm Closed Length: Built as a 4-piece configuration with a 770 mm closed length, the collapsed bundle is remarkably streamlined compared to 5- or 6-piece designs, making it effortless to lash onto a backpack alongside backup rods.

  • Safe, Snag-Free Mobility in Rugged Terrain: While 770 mm may not fit entirely inside a standard daypack, it mounts securely against your back without protruding above your head or hanging below your hips. Whether trekking mountain trails, scrambling over jagged coastal rocks, or maneuvering through cramped ferry cabins, the rod stays clear of obstacles—drastically reducing the risk of accidental tip breaks or impact damage.

ShoreR94Sに込めた思い

Masaaki Katayama

ShoreR 94S. It began in 2017—under pitch-black equatorial skies in the Republic of Gabon, watching a dragon-like tarpon over two meters long breach violently into the night. That fateful encounter with a 100 kg-class giant marked the true beginning of this rod's journey.

During the three years of the pandemic when international travel was severely restricted, development never paused. Instead, that window fueled a deeper evolution as we refined the blank to excel against domestic apex predators as well.

Chasing trophy tarpon with total commitment means casting nine hours a day, seven days straight. For that level of endurance, uncompromising lightness is non-negotiable. Yet, locking horns with 30 kg-plus monsters simultaneously demands immense, unyielding blank power. Refining these opposing forces over years of testing transformed the ShoreR into a powerhouse built to conquer domestic kingfish (hiramasa), GT, and dogtooth tuna, as well as international giants like tarpon and kingfish.

The 9.4 ft length was forged through countless trials. This is not merely a stiff stick, nor a one-dimensional distance caster. It seamlessly unites the critical triumvirate of shore combat: long-distance castability, featherlight balance, and overwhelming lifting power into a true versatile shore casting rod.

The ShoreR 94S has finally taken form. It was built with a singular passion: to travel the globe and go toe-to-toe with the world's most formidable shore monsters.

We invite you to pick it up and feel that power for yourself.
